Wattamolla, Royal National Park


One of the best things about living in Sydney is shaving all the benefits of big city life and still being able to do the backpacker thing with only a short drive or flight at weekends. The Royal National Park is a huge national park about an hours drive South of Sydney full of rainforest and coast to see. One day we took the ute and went to visit Wattamolla Beach.

Wattamolla beach is a lagoon  with fairly shallow water that opens out onto the sea. There’s a BBQ and picnic area and a couple of walks heading off round the coast. We took one of the beach tracks round to the right to see the views.

There’s a cliff that you can jump from, despite it being absolutely FREEZING Jon went for a dive. Don’t think he enjoyed it much.
